@Celaritos Just so you know…..There are MANY court cases that have upheld that the State has NO obligation to protect your safety.
OK we can simply avoid this whole subject by putting speed cams LOL, but everything else said is true like attitude determines how much punishment you will received vs the actual law in most cases.

I see where you’re coming from here but also read your state constitution which says there can be no crime without a victim. It’s called Corpus Delecti or body of crime. Some sort of injury, loss of property, damage of property, theft of person or property etc has to occur in order for their to be a crime. It’s says it in almost every state constitution in the US.
the key word here is drive and/or driver. Its usage and defination appears differently in different places. motor veicle act, blacks law dictionary, but it is most correctly used in the federal motor carrier saftey regulations (speaking of regulating) by definition the word driver (ask your self what it means to have an “endorsement” “amended” to your “license”….LoL… but the word regulate is another good adverb to know about too….even stranger still check out motorcycle “regulations”…
That’s a terrible interpretation of the Constitution. Of and by the people means that it has the people in mind and that we choose our representatives, not that we directly run the government.
My point wasn’t to start an argument, just to open people’s eyes to why the law shouldn’t always be questioned. A traffic stop is not a conspiracy to “kidnap” and “extort” people. It’s a tool of public protection that when ignored can lead to serious injury, death or property destruction.
I take it you have not read the U.S Constitution and the California Constitution. The government is for the people By the people. SO who owns what? thought so!
well, the Department of Transportation headed the building of the transportation infrastructure, so unless the sold the roads or someone stole them, it’s the government’s.
As for the regulations, the federal government gives states and localities incentives to impose safety regulations (drunk driving laws and speed limits) these regulations have the mindset to protect the citizens, that is the government’s job after all – to protect its citizens. Unless you find laws pointless or something.

You’re misconstruing my point here, I’m just saying that the government is able to regulate the usage of their property (i.e. the roads), and we must abide by those regulations.
